Owned and operated by the same folks as our popular Truffles Cafes. Truffles Grill is located in the thoroughly rebuilt premises formerly occupied by The Hofbrauhaus. The Grill is a bit more upscale than its two cafe cousins. Its objective is to offer "fine food, great service and a unique comfortable atmosphere." There are lots of booths for intimate dining. The walls of Truffles Grill are decorated with paintings where the artists started with photographs of Hilton Head Island and Lowcountry scenes, and applied paint on top of them. Truffles Grill is intended to take the Truffles concept to a new level. Although many of the items on its menu may be similar to those of the cafes, its china, extensive wine list (many available by the glass), white tablecloths, service and adult orientation distinguish it from the other Truffles. Truffles Grill, however, is not a fine dining restaurant in the "stuffy" sense of the term. It is "fun, casual and upscale!" Truffles serves dinner Monday through Saturday. Excellent new restaurant (fall, 2008), offering “Big Wines, Small Plates, and Serious Cocktails. The wine list features a large selection (125) of some of the most popular wines in the world, including 50 by the glass and numerous bottles for less than $30. Many choices have received a score of 90 or better (really good!) from Wine Spectator magazine. There also is a broad array of specialty cocktails, plus cordials and brandies. The bar area features a “Winekeeper” System that assures customers a perfectly chilled, accurately poured glass of wine every time. Winekeeper keeps wine fresh because it replaces wine that has been served with nitrogen, so there is no deterioration from prolonged exposure to air. WiseGuys’ excellent “Small Plate Menu” features a large selection of fresh, delicious, sometimes unusual selections, from salads to appetizers, to mini-entrees, to mini-pizzas, to desserts. Items are designed so that people may share, try a lot of different items, and eat as much or as little as they want. The menu is affordable. WiseGuys serves food from 5-11:00 pm, and libations from 5:00 pm “until” every night. Catering and cocktail party trays are available.
